ONE-ACT PLAY FOR THREE ACTORS (M/F)

As part of the Baroque Year 2018 and the Rubens celebration, CODE vzw presents a theatre performance for a small audience around the theme of 'beauty'. How do people experience beauty, and how does that relate to the works of Rubens? I wrote one of the three one-act plays.

On a warm summer day, four people stand in a museum in front of a painting by Rubens ('The Union of Earth and Water'). What does the work mean, what message does the artist want to convey, and is it necessary to understand the message in order to find the work beautiful?

The Mill of Pa Pampus

ONE-ACT PLAY FOR THREE ACTORS (M/F)

(Forty-five minutes)

Something is wrong with the family's fairground mill, the Pampus family's. Or maybe not? Is it just imagination? An expert comes to look and determines that it is serious. Something must be done. Stopping the mill is not an option. Slow it down? Fewer children on the mill? Or silence the expert? What is best? Theatre in the style of Beckett and Ionesco.

The text is published by CODE vzw, together with 11 other theatre texts that they consider the best of recent years. More information on the CODE website: www.codegecoverd.be

Metabolic

ONE-ACT PLAY FOR TWO WOMEN

A budding female artist organises a private view of her first work in a friend's salon. The occasional speech is given by a somewhat forgotten poet. It soon becomes clear that she is more interested in her own work than in the work being shown ... Hilarious, but not all the way to the end.

Developed during a TOS project of CODE vzw, performed in many places in Flanders.
